A collaboration by FILL and Samma Studio for JIA Curated 2026, The Permeable Threshold presents a three-meter operable solid Merbau louvre system engineered for coastal resilience.

For Jia Curated 2026, FILL and Samma Studio present "The Permeable Threshold—an architectural boundary reimagined as a living, breathing instrument. This collaboration pairs visionary design with 45 years of timber expertise to offer a sustainable response to the climate crisis.

Featured is a three-meter operable louvre crafted from solid Merbau, engineered for uncompromised coastal stability. This concept defined by three pillars: adaptive airflow control, durable craftsmanship, and a knockdown design for seamless maintenance. Through this precision, the facade tames harsh elements into curated breezes, leading visitors toward an Inner Sanctuary of self-peace.
